Green Apple Golf Club was founded by Kyla Jo, a PGA Associate, in the fall of 2024 with the mission to empower New Yorkers by introducing them to the game of golf!

Danielle, Private Lessons

Kyla is a warm and encouraging coach. No question is to basic - or in the weeds. She always has time to listen to what’s working well for you and what is not, so she can adapt your lesson accordingly. In addition to helping you with your swing, Kyla gives you the confidence to feel comfortable on the course by sharing her own experiences, tips, and tricks. I highly recommend Kyla as a coach if you’re looking not only for someone to accelerate your learning, but also a personal cheerleader to celebrate your golf achievements (no matter how big or small).

She has a passion for golf, but also sees it as something beyond a game - it’s mental strength and self discipline that can carry over into other aspects of life. Kyla also brings a joy and playfulness to lessons that encourages kids to think of a driving range as a fun space, which hopefully lasts a lifetime!

Kyla Jo's Background

Coach Kyla Jo’s mission is to introduce the joys of golf newbies of all ages who lacked the time, resources or support.

A PGA associate based in the metro NYC area, she brings more than 20 years of experience to the world of golf instruction. Coach Kyla Jo began competing in Junior PGA tournaments at the age of 9, playing competitively through high school until she was ultimately named a Texas All State golfer in 2010 at 17.

Inspired by her experience, she created a program through Green Apple Golf Club that introduces golf to youth and adults of all ages. Through her program, players learn proper technique, appropriate etiquette, and most importantly grow new confidence in their ability to master the game.

Coach Kyla Jo currently holds certifications from TPI- Level 1, SwingCatalyst- Level 2, Leadbetter Kids, Leadbetter Associate, GolfForever, and LPGA*USGA Girls Golf.  Her teaching methods have been refined under the training of Sleepy Hollow Country Club’s Kevin Sprecher and the expertise shared by golf legends including David Leadbetter, Gavin Grenville-Wood, and Mike Adams.
